rays in the form of space

Three individual forms are extrapolated from a singular, warped rhombic dodecahedron prism and tilted as if emerging from or being subsumed by the ground. Each form is oriented within the threefold geometric division of space to establish alignments with the sun's movement across the year, relative to their common central axis. These alignments correspond to the horizonal extremities at sunrise and sunset, and are echoed in the optical clockwork generated as the sun's rays project through the sculptures, shifting with the hours of the day and the turning of the seasons. Optical coatings, applied via magnetron sputtering, create a dynamic interplay of coloured planes, leaving clear those individual glass panes where the forms would have intersected in the original rhombic dodecahedron—traces of latent wholeness within each sculptural form.
